With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vítor Baia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vince Di Cola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Rutger Vallander came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vítor Baia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Bivall in the 24th minute of play. A collision led to Samurai getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Morgan Vassenius hit a great ball. Guido Vissenaeken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Vince Di Cola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 29th minute. Vítor Baia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Bivall in the 30th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 38th minute of play forced Samurai's goalkeeper Vince Di Cola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Baia came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Samurai's Allan Bivall. But to his dismay, Allan Bivall quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vítor Baia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maxim Tsigalko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Brugge United getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Will Deman hit a great ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Guido Vissenaeken stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brugge United's Vítor Baia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Brugge United from getting a goal against them. In the 67th minute, Maxim Tsigalko got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Samurai's Cafu Dolar managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Herbert Pietrowicz in the 70 minute of the game. Hermengildo Huly hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After having played for 74 minutes, Waud Huijbrechts managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brugge United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waud Huijbrechts was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brugge United's goalkeeper Vítor Baia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 81 minutes Brugge United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Allan Bivall who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Allan Bivall almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Brugge United's Vítor Baia did a great save. With a little luck, Brugge United's Vítor Baia got control of the ball when Maxim Tsigalko tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st minute, Maxim Tsigalko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Samurai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The referee felt a red card was in order, 95 minutes into the game, when Laurențiu Roşculeţ put in a rough tackle. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Samurai walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
