Talcampeón FC's Edgardo Rondanelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 6th minute of play. Guido Vissenaeken's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgardo Rondanelli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Talcampeón FC's Javiero Charme got a free kick in the 16th minute. The throw-in from Sergi Hoevel in the 17th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Brugge United's Ümit Karan. In the 18th minute, Guido Vissenaeken fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 19 minutes into the match, Talcampeón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guido Vissenaeken came free, but Edgardo Rondanelli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guido Vissenaeken blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edgardo Rondanelli having to make a save. Edgardo Rondanelli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Vissenaeken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 minutes, Sergi Hoevel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talcampeón FC and the Brugge United players grew even worse after the yellow card. Waud Huijbrechts replaced Jaspar Van Den Broeck. Lolo Acharan might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vítor Baia. Talcampeón FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guido Vissenaeken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 90th minute, Guido Vissenaeken left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brugge United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0.
