Emiliano Furia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Alvaro Rotili made a huge save. 7 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Petroni came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alvaro Rotili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ettore Petroni in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th minute, João Augusto Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save A.S. Udinese from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Lemel SV getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Jacek Furlit hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Alexander Bottone came free, but George Wiklund reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Petroni came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili got control of the ball when Manfred Konradsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Furia in the 30th minute of play. In the 36th minute of the match A.S. Udinese got a corner. Lemel SV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alberigo Di Franco ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on A.S. Udinese's corner Alberigo Di Franco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and George Wiklund quite easily take care of the ball. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lemel SV's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alberigo Di Franco was slow to take the kick. During this time A.S. Udinese's players had a chance to rest. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Augusto Clemente advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-1 in the 40th minute. A.S. Udinese's Alexander Damiani was substituted for Bruno Maranzano. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

George Wiklund was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alexander Bottone showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 63 minute of play. Lemel SV's Dennis Bergkamp was substituted for Manfred Konradsson. A.S. Udinese's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alberigo Di Franco in the 84th minute. Alvaro Rotili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dennis Bergkamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Petroni in the 88th minute of play forced A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexander Bottone's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Wiklund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 91st match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Caniggia to maneuver through the defense. George Wiklund was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Alexander Bottone capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alexander Bottone really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. 95 minutes into the game, Alexander Bottone recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of George Wiklund. Alexander Bottone showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched A.S. Udinese eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
