In the 15th minute of the match Henrik Löv sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guaberto Cucao skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nunez Gizon in the 17th minute of play forced FC Blueskatterna's goalkeeper André Nordmark to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the match, FC Blueskatterna's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Serafo came free, but André Nordmark reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Nordmark took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adan Gonza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guaberto Cucao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Björkman in the 28th minute. Guaberto Cucao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Björkman, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute Kevin Fagrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guaberto Cucao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Nordmark showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvano Tiadoro in the 36th minute of the match. André Nordmark made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ladislao Serafo in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goalkeeper Guaberto Cucao had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrik Löv. Jens-Ola Haegg kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Mainumby's Lázaro Chap was substituted for Ladislao Serafo. Mainumby's Ezequiel Sugoi was substituted for Dante Sidro. Mainumby's Victor Gelmiro was substituted for Dionisio Acevedo. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peter Björkman to make the kick off. Mainumby's Guaberto Cucao played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Fagrell in the 54th minute of play. Guaberto Cucao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrik Löv in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Jens-Ola Haegg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guaberto Cucao was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Guaberto Cucao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrik Löv, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Henrik Löv came free, but Guaberto Cucao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Kjell Hurtig ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guaberto Cucao was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. A collision led to FC Blueskatterna getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Joachim Bergman hit a great ball. Silvano Tiadoro was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, FC Blueskatterna's Nils Falkrans nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Guaberto Cucao made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. 76 minutes into the match, FC Blueskatterna's goalkeeper André Nordmark had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Silvano Tiadoro. After some careless play in the Mainumby defense, Peter Björkman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guaberto Cucao. The Mainumby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guaberto Cucao should have stopped the shot. 96 minutes into the game, Henrik Löv cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Guaberto Cucao was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Blueskatterna fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mainumby had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
