In the 16th minute Martin Mutumba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ariel Ponc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Mutumba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ariel Ponc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Mutumba's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Villa Mitre City's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fernan Berart was slow to take the kick. During this time Vykans Vikingar's players had a chance to rest. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Lauro in the 24th minute of play. Martin Mutumba had several of the Villa Mitre City's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 25 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Ariel Ponc as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc got control of the ball when Emmanuel Dennis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ariel Ponc dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0.
