After some careless play in the PEÇONHENTO FC MG defense, Ciro Pellegrini kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Barra Gol. The PEÇONHENTO FC MG fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Barra Gol should have stopped the shot. Chelco FC's León Argento quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Waldemar Niedziela, made in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 24th minute, Tomás Erasto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 26 minutes, Saverio Fidele successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With an all-out effort, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Saverio Fidele threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tarcisio Luz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Chelco FC booed when PEÇONHENTO FC MG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Waldemar Niedziela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute PEÇONHENTO FC MG were awarded a corner. Gabriel Delassus went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Chelco FC's goalie and right to Nelsinho Faria. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Chelco FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Emanuel Vigil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Saverio Fidele made a huge save. Gabriel Delassus came free with the goalkeeper in the 40th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Saverio Fidele could save by the left post. 46 minutes into the match, Chelco FC's goalkeeper Saverio Fidele had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Vigil. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Emanuel Vigil made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Vigil in the 51st minute of play forced Chelco FC's goalkeeper Saverio Fidele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barra Gol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Silviano in the 78th minute of play. Barra Gol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from León Argento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Barra Gol made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Silviano in the 84th minute. The supporters of PEÇONHENTO FC MG booed when Chelco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Raymon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86thth minute of the game Peter Paul Crouch who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chelco FC's Saverio Fidele was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Despite being the better team, Chelco FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
