Jonatan Enekoitz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Monte Hermoso Beach's goal looked a bit too open when Dan Kjellman came free, but Jonatan Enekoitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dan Kjellman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonatan Enekoitz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Abel Pasqualini hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Monte Hermoso Beach's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dan Kjellman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dan Kjellman made a kick off.
