The Viola Invest fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dumitru Doloman should have stopped the shot. 58 minutes into the game, Enzo Miccio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Dumitru Doloman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Viola Invest's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stig-Åke Gabrielsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Viola Invest's Dumitru Doloman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Moraes in the 88th minute of play. If Mario Jakobe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
