The wind increased when Gonçalo Guerra made the kick off in the second half. Karl-Axel Jansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fabiano Paraíba in the 54th minute of the match. An unexpected shot in the 55th minute by Alpheios Arvanitoyannis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Adolfo Sidro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Londrina's Hortêncio Vieira was substituted for Carlos Albuquerque. When Falcão Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the C.A.Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Falcão Nunes couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute, Hortêncio Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Edvaldo Medeiros managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when C.A.Independiente's Adolfo Sidro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Falcão Nunes struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Edvaldo Medeiros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A.Independiente. 82 minutes into the match, Londrina's goalkeeper Edvaldo Medeiros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Azly Devan. After having played for 88 minutes, Adolfo Sidro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A.Independiente played a much better game than Londrina and deserved their victory. The Londrina players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
