The SSC Ambrosini players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Valencia C.F. were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joe Herring made a kick off. In the 58th minute, Henrik Möllgren made a precise shot to the right of Santiago Cañizares. Magnus Fribäck replaced Christer Lundin. 82 minutes into the game, Gösta Berggren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SSC Ambrosini's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valencia C.F. the free kick. The supporters of Valencia C.F. booed when SSC Ambrosini was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gösta Berggren didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Valencia C.F.'s Victorio Lope got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 85th minute, Henrik Möllgren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SSC Ambrosini fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. In the 94th minute Magnus Fribäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Cañizares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
