Jan-Joost Werner was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Sergiu Panaitescu came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the C Ａ R D I N Ａ L fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sergiu Panaitescu couldn't finish the play. Jan-Joost Werner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 12th minute of the match. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Jan-Joost Werner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Francis in the 15th minute of play. In the 19th match minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timoteo Basualdo to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gavril Bucur. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Károly Bodrogi in the 21st minute. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Károly Bodrogi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Branislav Velchevski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Elpidio Francis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan-Joost Werner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Arnaldo Gabon was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jan-Joost Werner in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Arnaldo Gabon put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Jan-Joost Werner. Elpidio Francis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan-Joost Werner read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miguel Prosperi in the 35th minute. The corner led ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Esteban Iztal to fire away a dangerous shot which Jan-Joost Werner despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski got control of the ball when Sergiu Panaitescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 47 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Sergiu Panaitescu came free, but Branislav Velchevski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Elpidio Francis made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Venancio Havier hit a great ball. In the 52nd minute of the match Károly Bodrogi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Branislav Velchevski showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to C Ａ R D I N Ａ L getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Radu Rada hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavril Bucur in the 59th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavril Bucur in the 62nd minute of play. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elpidio Francis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Jan-Joost Werner made a huge save. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's Gavril Bucur got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 75 minutes, Eric Şerbănescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C Ａ R D I N Ａ L's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Şerbănescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st match minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bonifacio Suarez to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Venancio Havier hit a great ball. When the match had been going on for 92 minutes Károly Bodrogi shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by Branislav Velchevski when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
