The Huns's Vintilă Murgu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabi Gol in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, América-SC F.C.'s Gabi Gol sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vintilă Murgu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 34th minute Gabi Gol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vintilă Murgu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arkadiusz Smolarek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ekber Merdan in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

After having played for 83 minutes, Gabi Gol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. América-SC F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabi Gol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vintilă Murgu made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Gabi Gol sent off a good shot on target. Arkadiusz Smolarek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ekber Merdan in the 87th minute of the match. In the 90th minute Lucas Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vintilă Murgu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. América-SC F.C. were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after The Huns's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Téo Cordeiro took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Hílton Souza got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vintilă Murgu quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ekber Merdan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arkadiusz Smolarek having to make a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The The Huns fans cheered their team off the field, for while América-SC F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
