FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iulian Pietreanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot by Basarab Alexandru from long distance, 9 minutes into the match, got Gong Jun Feng's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Wilson Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Ralph Roeles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute of the match Julias Rascals Apeldoorn got a corner. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Karel Kimman ran over to the corner to take the kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bengt Petersson during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Bengt Petersson got a free kick in the 22nd minute. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Gong Jun Feng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save FC UNIREA Alba Iulia from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute Wilson Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ralph Roeles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Kurt van der Laan got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's Ralph Roeles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilson Arósio in the 29th minute of play. Ralph Roeles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iulian Pietreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 35 in the game by Kurt van der Laan from a close distance when the talented Gong Jun Feng managed to make a qualified save. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's players were relieved. Ralph Roeles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iulian Pietreanu's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Marciano Cambranes in the 38th minute. A nice corner shot did that Marciano Cambranes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ralph Roeles quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gong Jun Feng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt van der Laan in the 39th minute of play. After 42 minutes of play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Orçun Yalınalp made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ralph Roeles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kurt van der Laan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Gong Jun Feng when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 45 minutes into the game, Kurt van der Laan lined in a short shot 2-1 behind a frustrated Gong Jun Feng. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

50 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Jan de Vlieger came free, but Gong Jun Feng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Gong Jun Feng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt van der Laan in the 53rd minute of play. Iulian Pietreanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Ralph Roeles successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kurt van der Laan in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gong Jun Feng prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marciano Cambranes took the corner. After 67 played minutes FC UNIREA Alba Iulia got a freekick which was hit by Petrică Cândreanu. After 68th play minutes Kurt van der Laan shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Gong Jun Feng and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 71stth minute of the game Kurt van der Laan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Gong Jun Feng was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Orçun Yalınalp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ralph Roeles read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Kurt van der Laan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gong Jun Feng was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In the 85th minute Emiliano Caiola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gong Jun Feng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute Julias Rascals Apeldoorn were awarded a corner. Karel Kimman went to the cornerflag to take it. With an all-out effort, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Ralph Roeles threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Iulian Pietreanu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
