When Nazmi Tanberk fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Ouagadougou National's protests and gave Nazmi Tanberk a yellow card for diving instead. Jovens Democratas MZC's Duda Amorim was substituted for Leonardo Guerra. A collision led to FC Ouagadougou National getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Nazmi Tanberk hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerome Rohrer in the 16th minute of play forced FC Ouagadougou National's goalkeeper Rene Vereijt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dalmo Saldanha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from William Westelinx in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute, William Westelinx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dalmo Saldanha was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 26 minutes into the match, FC Ouagadougou National's goal looked a bit too open when Ruy de Brito came free, but Rene Vereijt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers William Westelinx in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dalmo Saldanha saved Jovens Democratas MZC from getting behind. Rene Vereijt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruy de Brito in the 34th minute of the match. William Westelinx blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dalmo Saldanha having to make a save. Dalmo Saldanha made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when William Westelinx sent off a good shot on target. Rene Vereijt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruy de Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th match minute, Jovens Democratas MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdir Miranda to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when William Westelinx stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Ouagadougou National had won after a very even match.
