When Jurand Sienkowski came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Callegari fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jurand Sienkowski couldn't finish the play. Cura del Futbol's Eriberto Erlantz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jurand Sienkowski in the 21st minute of play. After 24 played minutes Callegari got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Tepedino. Callegari's Telmo Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Callegari from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Callegari booed when Cura del Futbol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Gonzalez didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Cura del Futbol's goal looked a bit too open when Albertinho Teles came free, but Eriberto Erlantz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Callegari fans' excitement grew in the 42nd match minute when Callegari's Jurand Sienkowski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gerardo Malvin charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Alfred Pawelczyk made the kick off in the second half.
