The Underdogs's Jan Wessel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabrício Lustosa in the 13th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, Riemer Fries was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The Underdogs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Academia Monte Gordo the free kick. A collision led to The Underdogs getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Riemer Fries hit a great ball. Jan Wessel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabrício Lustosa went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 32nd minute, Piearres Olalla made a precise shot to the right of Mao Zhen Hong. Academia Monte Gordo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Mao Zhen Hong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd in the 35th minute of the match. 37 minutes into the match, The Underdogs's goal looked a bit too open when Fabrício Lustosa came free, but Jan Wessel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabrício Lustosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jan Wessel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fabrício Lustosa ran back to his position shaking his head. Mao Zhen Hong was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Dolf Schoonderwoerd capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dolf Schoonderwoerd really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. Dolf Schoonderwoerd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 47th minute of the match, Dolf Schoonderwoerd tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mao Zhen Hong saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabrício Lustosa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The Underdogs's Jan Wessel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save The Underdogs from getting a goal against them. The Underdogs's attentive Riemer Fries managed to snatch the ball when Luciano Tiso made a throw-in in the 56th minute of the game. Mao Zhen Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st minute Academia Monte Gordo were awarded a corner. Rodrigo Mafra went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Academia Monte Gordo's Codrin Zamfira getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 68th minute Dolf Schoonderwoerd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dolf Schoonderwoerd in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mao Zhen Hong saved Academia Monte Gordo from getting behind. Academia Monte Gordo made a substitution. Pascual Mouricio replaced Adérito Abreu. 82 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's Christian Westerstrand sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan Wessel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 86th minute Piearres Olalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mao Zhen Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind The Underdogs's goalkeeper Jan Wessel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mao Zhen Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dolf Schoonderwoerd, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Dolf Schoonderwoerd took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mao Zhen Hong. Mao Zhen Hong dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-4. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
