Genaro Aragones might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Odoy Pradhana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Genaro Aragones ran back to his position shaking his head. Internacional's Odoy Pradhana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Genaro Aragones in the 11th minute of play. Odoy Pradhana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genaro Aragones in the 13th minute of play. Felippe Linhares's late challenge caught a São José City - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felippe Linhares helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of São José City - FSCMZ booed when Internacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Internacional's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Genaro Aragones was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Dagoberto Linares kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Bebeto da Costa was slow to take the kick. During this time Internacional's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Marco Recife almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but São José City - FSCMZ's Lino Mazza did a great save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

São José City - FSCMZ's Jonathan Dijk managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Milosz Kordalewski in the 52 minute of the game. In the 54th minute, Jonathan Dijk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Internacional's Odoy Pradhana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Internacional from getting a goal against them. When Primo Mazzola fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored São José City - FSCMZ's protests and gave Primo Mazzola a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, São José City - FSCMZ's Primo Mazzola got a free kick in the 77th minute. When Waldemar Marques came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the São José City - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldemar Marques couldn't finish the play. Odoy Pradhana made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Genaro Aragones sent off a good shot on target. Milosz Kordalewski charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Milosz Kordalewski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 91st match minute, Internacional was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milosz Kordalewski to maneuver through the defense. Odoy Pradhana made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Genaro Aragones sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Internacional's zone, Genaro Aragones stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Odoy Pradhana came out of the goal and Genaro Aragones tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
