The audience was convinced that Korneliusz Barna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilbert Podolski was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. If Korneliusz Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gilbert Podolski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Korneliusz Barna in the 11th minute of the match. After 13 minutes of play, Pogoń Stawiszyn's Ryszard Pilipiec made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Flavio Peter was left in no man's land by his defense there! 21 minutes into the match, Ryszard Pilipiec notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Flavio Peter. Flavio Peter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Filip Negulici got a free kick in the 23rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kazimierz Dylla in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flavio Peter saved Batalionul U23 Dorobanti from getting behind. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Kazimierz Dylla sped through Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Flavio Peter. 28 minutes into the game, Xerxes Doro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pogoń Stawiszyn the free kick. Xerxes Doro kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. If Ryszard Pilipiec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kazimierz Dylla in the 36th minute of play forced Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's goalkeeper Flavio Peter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes, Korneliusz Barna made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. Pogoń Stawiszyn's Gilbert Podolski tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Batalionul U23 Dorobanti getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Tauro Doro hit a great ball. After the first half Pogoń Stawiszyn were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Korneliusz Barna to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Korneliusz Barna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilbert Podolski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Ignacio Gotzon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Korneliusz Barna in the 58th minute of play forced Pogoń Stawiszyn's goalkeeper Gilbert Podolski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Korneliusz Barna in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilbert Podolski saved Pogoń Stawiszyn from getting behind. A nice corner shot did that Tiberiu Zgârcu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gilbert Podolski quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 69th minute, Ignacio Gotzon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti made a substitution. Karl-Michael Brask replaced Rikki Doro. Ignacio Gotzon kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Gilbert Podolski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Michael Brask in the 73rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl-Michael Brask in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilbert Podolski saved Pogoń Stawiszyn from getting behind. In the 76th minute, Igor Maruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Batalionul U23 Dorobanti's Flavio Peter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Batalionul U23 Dorobanti from getting a goal against them.
