Australian Youth Academy's Tom Riddle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo da Silva in the 19th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Australian Youth Academy's Fletcher Baba was substituted for Gabriel Martini. Australian Youth Academy's attentive Jason Butterfield managed to snatch the ball when Lüder Roppel made a throw-in in the 54th minute of the game. Tom Riddle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo da Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 88th minute Garth Brough shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tom Riddle made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Gigel Elenescu sent off a good shot on target. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Garth Brough in the 92nd minute of the match. 96 minutes into the game, Fletcher Baba cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Rune Jarstein was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
