The tension between the São Paulo F.C. and the Koffe Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kléber Cavalcante hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Leandro Leme made in the 16th minute of the game a quick throw-in and David Trezeguet immediately put the ball in play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.
