But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eusébio Cosme couldn't finish the play. A A Arizona's 胡振鸿 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Su Xiang Lin in the 21st minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Humberto Bastos could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Erdinç Yalgın however easily saved by the left post. 胡振鸿 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enzo Tamargo, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute Eusébio Cosme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 胡振鸿 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A A Arizona's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Su Xiang Lin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Erdinç Yalgın made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lyuboslav Penev in the 42nd minute of play. After some careless play in the A A Arizona defense, Enzo Tamargo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 胡振鸿. The A A Arizona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 胡振鸿 should have stopped the shot. After the first half Mans were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, A A Arizona's Elói Mesquita got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Régis Labonne's late challenge caught a A A Arizona's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Régis Labonne helped the player get up and apologised. After 58 played minutes Mans got a freekick which was hit by Régis Labonne. A A Arizona made a substitution. Laércio Aguiar replaced Vitinho do Valle. In the 59th match minute, Mans was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Régis Labonne to maneuver through the defense.
