The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bandelocos's Nilson do Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Bandelocos from getting a goal against them. In the 9th minute, FC Buzău's Avram Elenescu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nilson do Vale. Nilson do Vale yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Vintilă Stoicea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Traian Balaban managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Buzău's supporters rose to their feet, but Traian Balaban was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson do Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 16 played minutes FC Buzău got a freekick which was hit by Dumitru Cornoiu. Gheorghe Baldovin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurinho Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafael Sobis in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gheorghe Baldovin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bandelocos's Nilson do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Strugure in the 26th minute of play. Gheorghe Baldovin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Sobis in the 27th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Bandelocos's goal looked a bit too open when Leonard Aanuţei came free, but Nilson do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 35 in the game by Leonard Aanuţei from a close distance when the talented Nilson do Vale managed to make a qualified save. Bandelocos's players were relieved. The supporters of FC Buzău booed when Bandelocos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Sobis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th minute, Emil Strugure hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee felt a red card was in order, 46 minutes into the game, when Luís Gustavo Urbano put in a rough tackle. After 47 played minutes Bandelocos got a freekick which was hit by Luís Gustavo Urbano. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Flavius Drâmba managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Buzău's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavius Drâmba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson do Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Avram Elenescu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nilson do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Aanuţei in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Emil Strugure shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's goalkeeper Gheorghe Baldovin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maurinho Vargas. Nilson do Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emil Strugure, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Nilson do Vale came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Buzău's Leonard Aanuţei. But to his dismay, Leonard Aanuţei quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Nilson do Vale didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Avram Elenescu went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 80th minute, Emil Strugure made a precise shot to the right of Nilson do Vale. Bandelocos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 89 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Tormes came free, but Gheorghe Baldovin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nilson do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Traian Balaban in the 91st minute of play.
