Baykal Alkan might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gheorghe Baldovin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baykal Alkan ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Staffy Terrier FC booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucian Dejeu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Staffy Terrier FC made a substitution. Grant Black replaced Andre Whiteley. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Avram Elenescu was the one to do the kick off. Staffy Terrier FC's Baykal Alkan got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute Baykal Alkan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gheorghe Baldovin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Avram Elenescu got free with Clive Holloway in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Traian Balaban in the 79th minute of play forced Staffy Terrier FC's goalkeeper Clive Holloway to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Staffy Terrier FC's Alex Zanardi was substituted for Baykal Alkan. The corner ended in Flavius Drâmba almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Staffy Terrier FC's Clive Holloway did a great save. In the 86thth minute of the game Alex Zanardi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Buzău's Gheorghe Baldovin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Buzău's Gheorghe Baldovin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Zanardi in the 93rd minute of play. FC Buzău's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
