The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nicolas Rolands short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Marcelinho Barral to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 16th minute Michel Haaland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Benicio Rivas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcelinho Barral. The goal made the score 3-0. The audience was convinced that Benicio Rivas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcelinho Barral was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Roceira SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The tension between the Vélez Juniors and the Roceira SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Vélez Juniors's Benicio Rivas got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute Hulk Speed shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elpidio Vitin had in the 57thth minute some difficulties stopping Michel Haaland's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 62nd minute, Cristian Naike ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelinho Barral was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Vélez Juniors made a substitution. Severo Maule replaced Benigno Gurutz. Vélez Juniors's Tiburcio Quinteros was substituted for Benicio Rivas. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michel Haaland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th match minute, Vélez Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiburcio Quinteros to maneuver through the defense. In the 98th minute, Cristian Naike hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Vélez Juniors fans cheered their team off the field, for while Roceira SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
