In the 10thth minute of the game Cristian Naike who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Malmö White Knights's Johnny Banks was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Severo Maule had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 15th minute Cristian Naike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnny Banks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Roland in the 22nd minute of play forced Malmö White Knights's goalkeeper Johnny Banks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roby Baggio was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Elvijs Presley managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malmö White Knights's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elvijs Presley was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Naike fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Banks having to interfere. The supporters of Vélez Juniors booed when Malmö White Knights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 101 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otto Bern didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malmö White Knights's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
