In the 20th minute Pedrão de Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Régis de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the SoS FC defense, Iustin Bungeanu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Karl-Erik Larsson. The SoS FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Karl-Erik Larsson should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd minute of the match SoS FC got a corner. Palmeiras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Christer Bratt ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Olov Hermansson put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Régis de Queirós. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palmeiras's goalkeeper Régis de Queirós, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedrão de Amorim made a kick off. Karl-Erik Larsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iustin Bungeanu's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. SoS FC's Christer Bratt quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ghenadie Furdui, made in the 73rd minute of the game. In the 77th minute, Christer Bratt reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Régis de Queirós. The goal made the score 1-3. Tommy Boylin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes in the game Ghenadie Furdui did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Luiz Fabiano Passos. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tommy Boylin in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Régis de Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 91stth minute of the game Iustin Bungeanu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SoS FC's Karl-Erik Larsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SoS FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
