An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Santos in the 4th minute of play forced Atlético Micaelense's goalkeeper Gervásio Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute Miguel Madruga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s João Vítor Arósio got control of the ball when Klaus Van Mellart tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gervásio Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Santos in the 20th minute of play. After 23 played minutes, Atlético Micaelense's Fabrício Coelho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper João Vítor Arósio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atlético Micaelense reached it. The audience was convinced that Palmiro Bettencourt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Vítor Arósio was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 27th minute of the match Atlético Micaelense got a corner. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fabrício Coelho ran over to the corner to take the kick. Klaus Van Mellart was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Miguel Madruga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Vítor Arósio having to interfere. João Vítor Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Palmiro Bettencourt in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Fryderyk Tyskie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Klaus Van Mellart could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but João Vítor Arósio made a huge save. Ging Root kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 46th minute of the match, Klaus Van Mellart got a very nice opportunity to score, but João Vítor Arósio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Palmiro Bettencourt made a kick off. In the 54th minute Miguel Madruga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th match minute, Atlético Micaelense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Palmiro Osório to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, Antônio Santos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gervásio Sousa, 0-1. After 62 minutes ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabrício Coelho who took care of the corner kick. In the 63rd minute Klaus Van Mellart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Vítor Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ging Root came free with the goalkeeper in the 65th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gervásio Sousa could save by the left post. João Vítor Arósio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Miguel Madruga went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 72 minutes, Antônio Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Antônio Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Atlético Micaelense's Geraldo Madureira was substituted for Vítor Resende. 77 minutes into the match, ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Madruga came free, but João Vítor Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antônio Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Gervásio Sousa made a huge save. Gervásio Sousa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Antônio Santos's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. João Vítor Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Palmiro Bettencourt, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Antônio Santos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gervásio Sousa. Atlético Micaelense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antônio Santos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Atlético Micaelense's Gervásio Sousa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Micaelense from getting a goal against them. ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙'s João Vítor Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Madruga in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of ♙Fluminense Campéon 23♙ were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Atlético Micaelense side.
