The Shadows's Niklas Lundqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Shadows's Marcos Basso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save The Shadows from getting a goal against them. Nildo da Silveira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Marcos Basso made a huge save. Herbert Holmgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sten Andrejević got free with Marcos Basso in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, The Shadows's Marcos Basso got control of the ball when Sten Andrejević tried to sneak it across the goal line. Niklas Lundqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luiz Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niklas Lundqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Basso made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Sten Andrejević sent off a good shot on target. Bastian Von Axelson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gelu Plopșor hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sten Andrejević to make the kick off. The ROSÁRIO SPORT fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The Shadows's Ni Yu Feng was substituted for Ni Zhen Ying. The Shadows's Fabian Tingberg was substituted for Gelu Plopșor. In the 74th minute Tony Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Basso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
