After some careless play in the Ponte do Carro defense, Kacper Czubski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armindo Maltez. The Ponte do Carro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armindo Maltez should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Ponte do Carro getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Adélio Brites hit a great ball. Rolf Hamberg's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Armindo Maltez - 0-2 was put on the score board in the 25th minute. In the 32nd minute Kacper Czubski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armindo Maltez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Ponte do Carro's goal looked a bit too open when Rolf Hamberg came free, but Armindo Maltez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jairo Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Maltez having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Rolf Hamberg sped through Ponte do Carro's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Armindo Maltez. Ogün Sarper hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Cassandros Elite Team supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cassandros Elite Team would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
