The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Carlos Palmeira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Cumpan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Jacob Barroso threw the ball into play from the sideline. Barbeita FC's Arman Bjursell quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Francisco Infante made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rogelio Sagrario in the 8th minute. After 11 minutes of play, Barbeita FC's Rogelio Sagrario made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisco Infante was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herberto Caiado in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrei Cumpan saved Barbeita FC from getting behind. 18 minutes into the match, Lima Team's goalkeeper Francisco Infante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rogelio Sagrario. A collision led to Barbeita FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Gentil Dias hit a great ball. Carlos Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Andrei Cumpan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute Anselmo Domingos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Cumpan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herberto Caiado in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrei Cumpan saved Barbeita FC from getting behind. Lima Team were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Barbeita FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Herberto Caiado took the corner. Lima Team's Herberto Caiado was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Andrei Cumpan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Anselmo Domingos hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Barbeita FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herberto Caiado was slow to take the kick. During this time Lima Team's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Herberto Caiado got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Andrei Cumpan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Andrei Cumpan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herberto Caiado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rogelio Sagrario blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Francisco Infante having to make a save. If Anselmo Domingos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herberto Caiado made a kick off. Francisco Infante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Sagrario in the 52nd minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Bruno Alves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barbeita FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lima Team the free kick. Jacob Barroso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Andrei Cumpan made a huge save. Lima Team's Francisco Infante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Sagrario in the 62nd minute of play. Francisco Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Sagrario in the 65th minute of the match. If Rogelio Sagrario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Anselmo Domingos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Andrei Cumpan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Herberto Caiado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrei Cumpan was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. If José Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barbeita FC's Virgílio Teves was substituted for Gentil Dias. Lima Team's Francisco Infante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Sales in the 83rd minute of play. Francisco Infante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Teves, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The supporters of Lima Team booed when Barbeita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrei Cumpan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Palmeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the game, Barbeita FC's Vicente Sales nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francisco Infante made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 94 played minutes Lima Team got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Valadares. Horácio Sobral kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
