Tasso FC's Miguel Sequeira quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Waldir Urbano hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Waldir Urbano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Júlio César was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Hugo Manso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silverio Corderun having to interfere. In the 60th match minute, Tasso FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihail Dărăscu to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute Waldir Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio César saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Waldir Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
