Herberto Abreu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 47th minute Márcio Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herberto Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Shao Xi Ran to make the kick off. Pepe Bomba's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Herberto Abreu firmly grabbed it by the left post. Alexandre Semedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Eurico lago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
