AD FAFE's Filomeno Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Bomba in the 3rd minute of play. Raul Sales's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Miguel Poças firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 6th minute, José Bomba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Filomeno Santana was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 16 minutes AD FAFE's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was João Gomes who took care of the corner kick. Hong Xi Bin made a great header on F.C. Paços de Ferreira's corner, it was just that AD FAFE's Filomeno Santana managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 21 minutes, Raul Sales managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AD FAFE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Sales was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 23 minutes of play, F.C. Paços de Ferreira's José Bomba made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Filomeno Santana was left in no man's land by his defense there! 26 minutes into the match, AD FAFE's goal looked a bit too open when José Bomba came free, but Filomeno Santana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Bomba took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Filomeno Santana. Filomeno Santana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Filomeno Santana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bóas Pernas in the 37th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Bomba in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filomeno Santana saved AD FAFE from getting behind. AD FAFE's Filomeno Santana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Bomba in the 41st minute of play. The AD FAFE players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. F.C. Paços de Ferreira were winning 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Bomba stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Filomeno Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bóas Pernas, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by AD FAFE's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. João Gomes was slow to take the kick. During this time F.C. Paços de Ferreira's players had a chance to rest. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's João Gomes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Filomeno Santana in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. David Rocastle tried in the 52nd minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Filomeno Santana a with quite unnecessary self made goal. Result 0-4. In the 57th minute, Juliano Azenha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Noel Regueira hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. José Bomba received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Filomeno Santana came out and tried to block the shot, but José Bomba slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 69th minute. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's José Bomba got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. F.C. Paços de Ferreira made a substitution. Fabrício Travassos replaced João Maia. When José Bomba came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the F.C. Paços de Ferreira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Bomba couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute José Bomba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Poças took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Caldas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 85 played minutes F.C. Paços de Ferreira got a freekick which was hit by Igor Tudor. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Filomeno Santana, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. F.C. Paços de Ferreira's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
