Celso Vasconcelos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Lamego in the 5th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Benfica VN's Abel Lamego sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celso Vasconcelos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Velasques in the 12th minute of play forced Benfica VN's goalkeeper Shelton Knutson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Futebol Espinhel were awarded a corner in the 14th minute after Benfica VN's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Armindo Pegado took the corner. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Benfica VN's goalkeeper Shelton Knutson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Celso Vasconcelos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christos Koumantarakis in the 18th minute. Shelton Knutson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Shelton Knutson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Velasques in the 30th minute of play. With a little luck, Futebol Espinhel's Celso Vasconcelos got control of the ball when Christos Koumantarakis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benfica VN's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hipólito Ferro in the 32nd minute. The supporters of Benfica VN booed when Futebol Espinhel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caleb Bayne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celso Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abel Lamego, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Christos Koumantarakis took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Celso Vasconcelos. Celso Vasconcelos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christos Koumantarakis made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Futebol Espinhel's goal looked a bit too open when Christos Koumantarakis came free, but Celso Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 58 played minutes Benfica VN got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Quaresma. Humberto Velasques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Shelton Knutson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Christos Koumantarakis took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Celso Vasconcelos. Celso Vasconcelos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Futebol Espinhel's Celso Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christos Koumantarakis in the 68th minute of play. Hermes Coutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute, Christos Koumantarakis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celso Vasconcelos was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After 93 minutes Benfica VN's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Armindo Pegado who took care of the corner kick.
