An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacobo Venerando in the 4th minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Oihenarte during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Gaspar Veloso came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Madvik FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaspar Veloso couldn't finish the play. 18 minutes into the match, Jacobo Venerando notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen. Mike van Kampen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mike van Kampen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Galvão, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Mike van Kampen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacobo Venerando went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Mike van Kampen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacobo Venerando's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Mike van Kampen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 36 minutes into the game, Jacobo Venerando cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Mike van Kampen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Laércio Baldaia kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucílio Vilanova to make the kick off. After 63 minutes Matos Velhos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pedro Teves who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Adelino Galvão got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mike van Kampen quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jiang Qing Lin charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jiang Qing Lin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Matos Velhos's Jiang Qing Lin got a free kick in the 69th minute. Matos Velhos's Karl Nietlisbach was substituted for Henrique Candal. A collision led to Matos Velhos getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Jiang Qing Lin hit a great ball. Lucílio Vilanova scored 0-5 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mike van Kampen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 76thth minute of the game Lucílio Vilanova who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matos Velhos's Mike van Kampen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A throw-in in the 77th minute of the game was made by Durval Meira with Adalberto Peres as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Mike van Kampen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Matos Velhos defense, Lucílio Vilanova kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mike van Kampen. The Matos Velhos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mike van Kampen should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Matos Velhos getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Tord Böcklund hit a great ball. Pedro Teves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute, Heigo Luiga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Matos Velhos manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Madvik FC to win.
