In the 8th minute Vicente Taveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Jerónimo Furtado kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving João Brites. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Jerónimo Furtado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but João Brites made a huge save. Roman Quilo hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After 19 played minutes Mira Sintra got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Taveira. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edwin van der Sar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roman Quilo got free with João Brites in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dabi Saens couldn't finish the play. But to his dismay, Alexandre Santana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The União Sport Clube Paredes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Mira Sintra had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
