Jorge Espírito Santo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alípio Rego having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Borlas's goal looked a bit too open when Zeus Duarte came free, but Alcino Granja reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Borlas's Marcus Edwards got his second yellow card of the match in the 46th minute. The referee ordered Marcus Edwards off the ground. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Florian Terrasi was the one to do the kick off. Augusto Ramos might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alípio Rego. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Augusto Ramos ran back to his position shaking his head. Serafim Baldaia came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alípio Rego could save by the left post. If Serafim Baldaia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Qu Ting Ming suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. 61 minutes into the game, Serafim Baldaia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Borlas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bembenfica the free kick. A collision led to Borlas getting a freekick after 65 minutes play.
