Lars-Erik Lindsten ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 9th minute Lars-Erik Lindsten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dick Melander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute Rickard Nilsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harald Lindell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute of the match, Henry Lund tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dick Melander saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Lars-Erik Lindsten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dick Melander having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lars-Erik Lindsten got free with Dick Melander in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thames Ironworks FC's Dick Melander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars-Erik Lindsten in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Pil SK's goal looked a bit too open when Torgny Forsman came free, but Harald Lindell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Harald Lindell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Bäck in the 25th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Dario Lucente was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pil SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thames Ironworks FC the free kick. After 31 played minutes Pil SK got a freekick which was hit by Dario Lucente. The goalkeeper, Dick Melander, was totally fooled by Pil SK's Lars-Erik Lindsten, who 36 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 44 minutes into the match, Pil SK's goal looked a bit too open when Rickard Nilsson came free, but Harald Lindell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Torgny Forsman notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Pil SK's Harald Lindell. Harald Lindell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Niklas Bäck to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Thames Ironworks FC's zone, Lars-Erik Lindsten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dick Melander came out of the goal and Lars-Erik Lindsten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dick Melander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars-Erik Lindsten in the 55th minute of the match. Harald Lindell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christian Säv in the 61st minute. The audience was convinced that Lars-Erik Lindsten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dick Melander was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. In the 68th minute, Lars-Erik Lindsten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gösta Granström made in the 70th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Christian Säv however managed to control. A sloppy throw-in by Gösta Granström in the 72nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Pil SK's Hustaz Castrillo. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Niklas Bäck put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Harald Lindell. Pil SK's Torbjörn Rosendal was substituted for Lars-Erik Lindsten. Pil SK's Harald Lindell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickard Nilsson in the 79th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Torgny Forsman got free with Harald Lindell in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Pil SK supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Thames Ironworks FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Thames Ironworks FC.
