After having played for 17 minutes, Torsten Sundström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malmö FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Torsten Sundström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Malmö FF's goalkeeper Zekai Suat, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Malmö FF booed when Löttorp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Bäcklin didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute Torsten Sundström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicu Urmasu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Malmö FF's Torsten Sundström slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nicu Urmasu. That made the score 0-3 after 62 minutes of play. Löttorp's Nicu Urmasu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Löttorp from getting a goal against them. Zekai Suat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adan Luken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dries Vedder in the 70th minute of play forced Löttorp's goalkeeper Nicu Urmasu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Adan Luken's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zekai Suat was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Löttorp were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Malmö FF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ago Nemvalts took the corner. Löttorp's Ago Nemvalts was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zekai Suat in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Malmö FF's Zekai Suat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adan Luken in the 82nd minute of play. Florian Candeloro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nicu Urmasu made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Torsten Sundström sent off a good shot on target. 90 minutes into the game, Adan Luken was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Löttorp's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malmö FF the free kick. A collision led to Löttorp getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Nicu Urmasu was out of position in the 95 minute of play, and Florian Candeloro capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Florian Candeloro really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Malmö FF walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
