Edward Fostar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mathias de Ruijter's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Johnny Clyne's late challenge caught a De Pelgrims's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Johnny Clyne helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Maccaulich FC's Johnny Clyne got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maccaulich FC's goalkeeper Edward Fostar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henk Cardinaal in the 9th minute of play forced Maccaulich FC's goalkeeper Edward Fostar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johnny Clyne hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Maccaulich FC's Edward Fostar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henk Cardinaal in the 23rd minute of play. Edward Fostar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mike van Zeijl, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. The De Pelgrims fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when De Pelgrims's Mike van Zeijl looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 27th minute, Mathias de Ruijter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The De Pelgrims fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 31 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's Mathias de Ruijter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edward Fostar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goalkeeper Mike Zoetmulder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Derek Grewar. If Derek Grewar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Maccaulich FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. James Grant hit a great ball. In the 40th minute Henk Cardinaal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edward Fostar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathias de Ruijter in the 42nd minute of play forced Maccaulich FC's goalkeeper Edward Fostar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edward Fostar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk Cardinaal in the 44th minute of play. Edward Fostar came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by De Pelgrims's Mike van Zeijl. But to his dismay, Mike van Zeijl quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Norman McWalrick was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of De Pelgrims booed when Maccaulich FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ben Munro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maccaulich FC's Edward Fostar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Maccaulich FC from getting a goal against them. Edward Fostar made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Mathias de Ruijter sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute, De Pelgrims's Mike van Zeijl ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edward Fostar. Edward Fostar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. In the 92nd minute, Mike van Zeijl fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Edward Fostar, passed just outside the right post. Mathias de Ruijter took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edward Fostar. Edward Fostar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7.
