But to his dismay, Klaas Jan Mol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Klaas Jan Mol in the 15th minute of play forced U21 Belgium's goalkeeper Gabriel Van Dyck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 minutes, Adem Soyyiğit mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 Belgium and the U21 Netherlands players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 16 played minutes U21 Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Adem Soyyiğit. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Collen in the 17th minute of play forced U21 Belgium's goalkeeper Gabriel Van Dyck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dennis Beerthuis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jimmy Hollants in the 21st minute of the match. In the 50th minute, Jimmy Hollants sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and U21 Netherlands's Dennis Beerthuis didn't even have to move. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fre De Beer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dave Bense got free with Gabriel Van Dyck in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gabriel Van Dyck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Klaas Jan Mol in the 55th minute of the match. Thiago van Beek kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Ferry Hebels could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Gabriel Van Dyck made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zé Roberto van Beek during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
