In the 5th minute Rodolfo Atarrabi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Sporting de Gijón defense, Adrián Espadas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Óscar Cordoba. The Sporting de Gijón fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Óscar Cordoba should have stopped the shot. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Atarrabi in the 10th minute of play. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Atarrabi in the 10th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrián Espadas in the 13th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Alejandro Rufo took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Vitaliy Vischak to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Soroca F.C. booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Curcio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Atarrabi in the 37th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Soroca F.C.'s goalkeeper Vitaliy Vischak had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Matias Bilintx. In the 41st minute, Adrián Espadas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustavo Tartalo hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute, Saturnino Curcio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrián Espadas was the one to do the kick off. Vitaliy Vischak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Bilintx in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrián Espadas. In the 54th minute, Soroca F.C.'s Adrián Espadas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Óscar Cordoba. Óscar Cordoba yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. 58 minutes into the game, Adrián Espadas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Óscar Cordoba. Adrián Espadas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Soroca F.C. made a substitution. Cosme Jaen replaced Rodolfo Atarrabi. Soroca F.C. made a substitution. Răzvan Necula replaced Adrián Espadas. In the 63rd minute of the game Eustacio Loiola made a throw-in which Matias Bilintx played forward. Óscar Cordoba made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Răzvan Necula sent off a good shot on target. Sporting de Gijón's Venancio Emesto was substituted for Rune Fanström. Natalio Mazuste was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Óscar Cordoba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Răzvan Necula, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute Răzvan Necula shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th match minute, Sporting de Gijón was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eustacio Loiola to maneuver through the defense. Răzvan Necula took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Óscar Cordoba. Óscar Cordoba dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. Óscar Cordoba was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Răzvan Necula showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-5 in the 86 minute of play. Carolo Ovando received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Vitaliy Vischak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Sporting de Gijón supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Soroca F.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for Soroca F.C..
