With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matias Bilintx in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eloy Mazuste saved Tigres Ñacuñán FC from getting behind. In the 14th minute of the match Sporting de Gijón got a corner. Tigres Ñacuñán FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Saturnino Curcio ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Saturnino Curcio almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Tigres Ñacuñán FC's Eloy Mazuste did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sinan Okergun in the 22nd minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Dante Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Andres Pitin came free, but Dante Fernendo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saturnino Curcio kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanislaw Hyska in the 26th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Dante Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Alejandro Rufo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sporting de Gijón's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tigres Ñacuñán FC the free kick. The supporters of Tigres Ñacuñán FC booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Rufo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 33 in the game by Matias Bilintx from a close distance when the talented Eloy Mazuste managed to make a qualified save. Tigres Ñacuñán FC's players were relieved. 34 minutes into the match, Tigres Ñacuñán FC's goalkeeper Eloy Mazuste had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Bonadona. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andres Pitin in the 36th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Dante Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Fernendo came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Tigres Ñacuñán FC's Andres Pitin. But to his dismay, Andres Pitin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Alfonso Pere hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Matias Bilintx made the kick off in the second half. Eloy Mazuste took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Curcio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mariano Llorian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sporting de Gijón's Venancio Emesto was substituted for Denis Bonadona. Matias Bilintx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Mazuste having to interfere. Dante Fernendo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanislaw Hyska, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Eloy Mazuste came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting de Gijón's Alejandro Rufo. But to his dismay, Alejandro Rufo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 78th minute Diego Maradona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Mazuste saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting de Gijón's Dante Fernendo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Sporting de Gijón from getting a goal against them. In the 85th minute Stanislaw Hyska shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Fernendo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sporting de Gijón's Atilano Feo was substituted for Constantino Nuno.
