Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enéas Cosme during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Enéas Cosme got a free kick in the 7th minute. The supporters of PEÇONHENTO FC MG booed when Pombal 2003 F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benny Rüdiger didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rômulo Arantes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilson Arósio having to interfere. Gilson Arósio made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Agnaldo Lopes sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Di Yuan Liang in the 20th minute of play forced PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Vito Furlan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Rômulo Arantes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gilson Arósio. Rômulo Arantes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. A collision led to PEÇONHENTO FC MG getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Rômulo Arantes hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goal looked a bit too open when Di Yuan Liang came free, but Vito Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Di Yuan Liang made the kick off in the second half. Kauã Lago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Vito Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rob Halford kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Gilson Arósio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agnaldo Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute Di Yuan Liang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito Furlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 73 played minutes Pombal 2003 F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Yağız Davutoğlu. Gilson Arósio came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Agnaldo Lopes. But to his dismay, Agnaldo Lopes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When the match clock showed 79 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Agnaldo Lopes sped through Pombal 2003 F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gilson Arósio. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Vito Furlan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Di Yuan Liang in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Tony de Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vito Furlan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Di Yuan Liang in the 85th minute of play. Kauã Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Rob Halford hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute Di Yuan Liang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vito Furlan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, PEÇONHENTO FC MG could leave the field as winners, despite Pombal 2003 F.C. having more of the ball for most of the match.
