Sporting de Gijón's Delmar Orti proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting de Gijón from getting a goal against them. After having played for 5 minutes, Per Anhalter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Per Anhalter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 6 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Herrera. Delmar Orti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eberhard Dost in the 10th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Dionisio Blasi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Blas-Armando Giunta in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lemmy Stecher saved 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz from getting behind. 23 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Delmar Orti had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Per Anhalter. After 25 minutes, Blas-Armando Giunta made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Lemmy Stecher tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 30 minutes into the game, Per Anhalter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting de Gijón the free kick. After 30 played minutes 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz got a freekick which was hit by Per Anhalter. The supporters of 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Apolo Herrera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ariel Urbasa's late challenge caught a 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ariel Urbasa helped the player get up and apologised. After 33 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Ariel Urbasa. In the 33rd minute of the match, Phoenix Wienecke got a very nice opportunity to score, but Delmar Orti was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's Eberhard Dost looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lemmy Stecher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blas-Armando Giunta in the 39th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Eberhard Dost came free, but Delmar Orti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Eberhard Dost's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Delmar Orti was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After a rather tough play, Sporting de Gijón's Angelo Bertin got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Blas-Armando Giuntas short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Lemmy Stecher to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Blas-Armando Giunta in the 63rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lemmy Stecher, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Blas-Armando Giunta had several of the 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 63 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Lemmy Stecher as he didn't even see the shot coming. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Blas-Armando Giunta put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Lemmy Stecher. Torsten Bröger kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of 1.FC Aufbau-Einsturz booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Anselmino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute of the match Phoenix Wienecke sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Delmar Orti skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phoenix Wienecke in the 81st minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Delmar Orti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 82 minutes Sporting de Gijón's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Phoenix Wienecke who took care of the corner kick. Per Anhalter was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 88th minute, Per Anhalter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sporting de Gijón had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
