In the 17th minute Manuel Aluncai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihăiţă Ştefulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Denis Ghee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costică Hidișan in the 21st minute of play. Mihăiţă Ştefulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cazimir Pânzaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mircea Foltea got free with Denis Ghee in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mihăiţă Ştefulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horaţiu Corduneanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 37 minutes, Leonard Cluceru mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the GoooooL and the Stiinta-Univ. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute of the match Costin Cuculeanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihăiţă Ştefulescu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. GoooooL's Mihăiţă Ştefulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horaţiu Corduneanu in the 40th minute of play. Cazimir Pânzaru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Mihăiţă Ştefulescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Costică Hidișan made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Costică Hidișan notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Stiinta-Univ.'s Denis Ghee. Denis Ghee was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee ignored Stiinta-Univ.'s protests and gave Manuel Aluncai a yellow card for diving instead. Mihăiţă Ştefulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cazimir Pânzaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Marcel Bărcăuan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Mihăiţă Ştefulescu made a huge save. Stiinta-Univ. played a much better game than GoooooL and deserved their victory. The GoooooL players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
