The supporters of Grütly booed when MZ Fénix was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrício Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. MZ Fénix's Reginaldo Moreira managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Pedro Pereyra in the 44 minute of the game. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jonas Ur was the one to do the kick off. Diamantino Santarém struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Marco Abalos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MZ Fénix. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Diamantino Santarém managed to get in a good position for a shot. MZ Fénix's supporters rose to their feet, but Diamantino Santarém was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
