Vincent Needham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Alpertunga Cevar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Habib Erzincanlı got free with Danny Paine in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vincent Needham's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alpertunga Cevar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After a rather tough play, BEŞİKTAŞK's Cankut Yengi got a free kick in the 21st minute. Alkan İldeniz lost his temper 34 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee gave Carlisle United a penalty, 37 minutes into the game. Feyzullay Seyhun had several of the Carlisle United's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 41 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed Danny Paine as he didn't even see the shot coming. The audience thought a goal was coming when Habib Erzincanlı got free with Danny Paine in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

52 minutes into the match, BEŞİKTAŞK's Feyzullay Seyhun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Danny Paine narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 53 minutes into the game, BEŞİKTAŞK's Habib Erzincanlı nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Danny Paine made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Vincent Needham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Carlisle United's Rueben Sutherland got a free kick in the 62nd minute. The tension between the BEŞİKTAŞK and the Carlisle United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Carlisle United booed when BEŞİKTAŞK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Altuğ Savaşer didn't get a good kick on the ball.
