Otávio Salgado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 13 minutes into the game, Luiz Eduardo Fontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Amaraji's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Continental Buzau the free kick. Otávio Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manole Nandriș in the 13th minute of the match. After 14 played minutes Amaraji got a freekick which was hit by Dênis Luz. 16 minutes into the match, Dragoş Mereuță had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Otávio Salgado. Amaraji's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dragoş Mereuță was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Dênis Vianna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Șerban Baicea having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Continental Buzau's Dragoş Mereuță nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Otávio Salgado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After 24 minutes of play Amaraji's Luiz Eduardo Fontes was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Otávio Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dragoş Mereuță in the 27th minute of play. Dragoş Mereuță scored 0-4 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Otávio Salgado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dragoş Mereuță in the 33rd minute of play forced Amaraji's goalkeeper Otávio Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicolae Pânzaru might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Otávio Salgado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolae Pânzaru ran back to his position shaking his head. Dragoş Mereuță scored 0-6 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Otávio Salgado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicolae Pânzaru during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Nicolae Pânzaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conrado da Cunha to make the kick off. Nicolae Pânzaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Otávio Salgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dragoş Mereuță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 55 minutes into the match, Amaraji's goal looked a bit too open when Dragoş Mereuță came free, but Otávio Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Amaraji's Dênis Luz got a free kick in the 55th minute. After having played for 58 minutes, Dragoş Mereuță managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Continental Buzau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dragoş Mereuță was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Otávio Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emil Ioviță in the 59th minute. After having played for 64 minutes, Dragoş Mereuță managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Continental Buzau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dragoş Mereuță was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Otávio Salgado made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Emil Ioviță sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dragoş Mereuță in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Otávio Salgado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Manole Nandriș managed to get in a good position for a shot. Continental Buzau's supporters rose to their feet, but Manole Nandriș was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otávio Salgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emil Ioviță got free with Otávio Salgado in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 79th minute, Dragoş Mereuță got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nistor Balint struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Otávio Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Continental Buzau. The crowd rose to their feet as Dragoş Mereuță kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Otávio Salgado. That made the score 0-7 in the 92 minute of play. In the 97th minute, Emil Ioviță got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match was over Continental Buzau could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Amaraji throughout the match.
