The supporters of Defensores de Lombroso booed when SC Freiburg 09 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Guerreiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Ramiro Cidro sped through SC Freiburg 09's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Celso Carrasqueira. In the 30th minute Israel Figueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Aragones saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elpidio Aragones showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Martins in the 32nd minute of the match. After 41 minutes of play, SC Freiburg 09's Igor Guerreiro made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elpidio Aragones was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Defensores de Lombroso's Agustin Mirande was substituted for Orlando Oihenarte. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ramiro Cidro to strike the kick off in the second half. Defensores de Lombroso made a substitution. Delmiro Telmo replaced Clodoveo Oliverios. A collision led to SC Freiburg 09 getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Igor Guerreiro hit a great ball. After 79 minutes, Israel Figueira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Freiburg 09 and the Defensores de Lombroso players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 80th match minute, SC Freiburg 09 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Israel Figueira to maneuver through the defense. If Marcelo Farias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. SC Freiburg 09's Celso Carrasqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramiro Cidro in the 87th minute of play. Elpidio Aragones showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Igor Guerreiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Augusto Mourato could shoot a difficult shot in the 97th minute, which Elpidio Aragones however easily saved by the left post. Defensores de Lombroso's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
